The Sickle Cell Foundation of X (SCFX) is a volunteer-driven organization committed to conducting research, raising awareness about sickle cell disease, and providing support services to patients.

Problem
The core problem we needed to solve was twofold: first, the SCFX needed a more effective way to share vital information about sickle cell disease with a broader audience. Traditional methods, such as pamphlets and website updates, were not reaching as many people as necessary. Second, the foundation faced challenges in streamlining the blood donation process, which was crucial for their initiatives and supporting their community.

Solution
One of the primary challenges we faced in this project was selecting the best technology to use. We had to ensure that the app would be accessible, responsive, and user-friendly while catering to the diverse needs of SCFX's audience. This step was crucial to ensure that the app would be widely adopted and used effectively.
After extensive evaluation, we chose the Flutter framework for its cross-platform capabilities and ability to deliver a native-like performance. This decision was made to ensure that the app could reach both Android and iOS users without compromising on quality or functionality.

Process
To address this challenge, our team embarked on a comprehensive design and development journey for the SCFX mobile app. We began by understanding the core problems faced by the foundation: the need for a user-friendly platform to share vital information and a mechanism to promote donations seamlessly.
We initiated the project by creating detailed wireframes that mapped out the app's structure and user flow. These wireframes served as the blueprint for the high-fidelity prototypes that followed. Our design process was deeply rooted in user experience analysis to ensure the app's navigation was intuitive and accessible to a broad audience.
In developing the application, we also had to think critically about how to present information in a way that was engaging and informative. We integrated features that allowed users to easily access educational resources about sickle cell disease.

Outcome
Utilizing the Flutter framework, we developed the application to deliver a smooth and responsive experience across various devices. The final product not only met the foundation's goals of information dissemination and donation facilitation but also provided an engaging and supportive platform for patients and the community. The SCFX mobile app stands as a testament to our commitment to solving real-world problems through thoughtful design and innovative technology.
