CurtaCuritiba

01

Problem

Users faced several difficulties in getting around the city by public transportation and locating tourist spots along their routes. The lack of precise information about routes, schedules, and itineraries made trip planning difficult, leading to delays and frustration.

On the administrative side, the Municipal Tourism Institute team needed a system that could not only feed website data but also create and conduct comprehensive tourism data analysis.

02

Solution

The project for the Municipal Tourism Institute was divided into two major deliveries: the new tourism website (CurtaCuritiba) and the data analysis system. The CurtaCuritiba tourism project aims to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience for tourists while also empowering the Municipal Tourism Institute with the tools they need to manage and analyze tourism data effectively.

03

Process

The entire project was planned and executed to overcome the deficiencies of the previous process and provide an exceptional user experience—not only for tourists but also for members of the Municipal Tourism Institute who need to manage various tourism information.

To address these challenges, the CurtaCuritiba tourism project incorporated several key features:

  • Enhanced Public Transportation Information: The website provides detailed and up-to-date information about public transportation routes, schedules, and itineraries. This allows users to plan their trips more effectively and reduces the likelihood of delays and frustration.

  • Tourist Spot Mapping: The website includes an interactive map that highlights tourist spots along public transportation routes. Users can easily locate points of interest and plan their visits accordingly.

  • User-Friendly Data Management System: The data management system allows the Municipal Tourism Institute team to easily update website content, ensuring that all information is current and accurate. This system also facilitates the collection and analysis of tourism data, enabling the team to make informed decisions and improve their services.

  • Comprehensive Data Analysis: The system includes tools for conducting detailed tourism data analysis. This allows the Municipal Tourism Institute to track visitor trends, measure the effectiveness of their initiatives, and identify areas for improvement.

04

Outcome

Curitiba's new tourism website is a comprehensive guide to exploring the city. Users can create their own itineraries, find detailed information about each tourist spot, navigate interactive maps, and learn about the local culture. It makes trip planning simple and enjoyable. On the other hand, the system offers a personalized administrative experience, making it easier and more intuitive to update website content and analyze tourism data. Our reached goals was:

  • Enhanced User Experience: Aimed to provide an exceptional user experience for tourists by offering precise and up-to-date information on public transportation and tourist spots.

  • Efficient Information Management: Provided Municipal Tourism Institute members with a robust system to manage and analyze tourism data effectively.

By integrating these comprehensive features and detailed planning stages, the project successfully addressed the previous deficiencies and set a new standard for tourism management and user experience in Curitiba.

Outcomes:

  • Benchmarking and Analysis: Conducted extensive benchmarking and analysis to understand the best practices and user needs for the new website and  data analysis system.

  • Wireframes and Prototypes: created initial wireframes to outline the structure and flow of the website and the system. Also High-Fidelity Prototypes: and navigable Prototypes.

  • Design Kit: assembled a comprehensive design kit to ensure consistency in design and user interface elements.

  • Technical Documentation: developed extensive technical documentation to support the system's development and future maintenance.
